ใหม่ๆ [mài mài] is an adverb used after a verb to describe an action that has just happened. Take a look at these examples below;

1. พิซซ่าอร่อยแค่ตอนอบเสร็จใหม่ๆ
[pizza aròi kâe dtawn òb sèt mài mài]
Pizzas only taste good when freshly baked.

2. ตอนแต่งงานกันใหม่ๆ เมียผมผอมกว่าผม
[dtawn dtàeng ngaan gan mài mài, mia phǒm pǎwm gwàa phǒm]
When we were newly wed, my wife was thinner than me.

3. พวกผักซื้อมาใหม่ๆ ยังไม่ต้องเอาเข้าตู้เย็นก็ได้
[pûak pàk séu maa mài mài yang mâi dtâwng ao kâo dtûu yen gàw dâai]
You don’t need to put vegetables in the fridge after you’ve just bought them.

4. ตอนเริ่มเรียนภาษาไทยใหม่ๆ ผมเขียนเป็นแต่ก.ไก่
[dtawn reûam rian paasǎa Thai mài mài phǒm kǐan pen dtàe gaw gài]
When I had just started to learn Thai, I could only write “ก (gaw gai).”

Note that ใหม่ๆ [mài mài] isn’t always an adverb. It may be in a form of an adjective, used to describe something that is new. Most descriptive adjectives in Thai can be repeated to emphasize the meaning.
