สู้กันแทบตายเพื่อแย่งชิงเข็มขัด
[Sûu gan tâeb taai peûa yâeng ching kěm kàd]
They’re fighting so hard for the belt…

แต่ไม่มีใครสวมกางเกง
[tàe mâi mii krai suǎm gaang geng]
…but neither of them wears pants!

แทบ [tâeb] = Almost, nearly
ตาย [taai] = To die

Meaning ::::
“…so hard/so much (one almost dies),” “do one’s best in..”

It’s used in a situation where you put a lot of effort in doing something but it’s not worth the outcome or the result didn’t turn out as expected or is unpleasant/undesirable.
