“เลยตามเลย” [loei taam loei] is used as an idiom meaning to “leave it like that.” or to “let it keep going.” It is generally used when someone makes a mistake or does something that makes some situation become difficult to fix so he has to just leave or accept the situation as it is without trying to change it. Sometimes, people also say “ปล่อยเลยตามเลย” [plòi loei taam loei] For example, “ฉันตั้งใจจะระบายสีแดง แต่ดันหยิบผิดเป็นสีฟ้า ก็เลยปล่อยเลยตามเลย” [chán tâng jai jà rábaai sĭ dang tàe dan yìp phìd pen sĭ fáa kôr loei plòi loei taam loei] “I meant to paint it red but I picked blue by accident so I just left it like that.”, “ผมไม่ได้อยากโกหก ตอนแรกกะพูดเล่นๆเฉยๆแต่คนดันเชื่อจริง ผมไม่รู้จะทำยังไงเลยปล่อยเลยตามเลย” [phŏm mâi dâi yàak go hòk. torn râek gà phûut lên lên chŏei chŏei tàe kon dun chêua jing. Phŏm mâi rúu jà tam yangngai loei plòi loei taam loei.] “I didn’t want to lie. At first, I only meant to kid around but they believed me for real and I didn’t know what to do so I just carried on with the lies.” (It got hard to tell the truth so I had to leave the situation as it was – letting people think what I said was true.)
