Storyline: A fun story about an egg sushi called “Tamago,” who often forgets things. On one rainy day, Tamago went out and enjoyed himself doing the things he loved; swimming, chasing after butterflies and eating tempura! As he was playing, he realized that he had forgotten something. It bothered him all day as he tried to recall what he had forgotten again and again, but he could never remember what it was. After that rainy day, his life changed forever. Let’s find out what Tamago had forgotten on that day and how it changed his life.

Who is it for: This picture book is particularly made for non-Thai adults learning the Thai language (beginner to intermediate), especially those who learn better visually with images. However, the story was written and the illustrations were deliberately created to also appeal to children. Since the book is bilingual, Thai children can learn English from it as easily as non-Thai speaking kids can use it to learn Thai.
An English-only version (not suitable for learning Thai) is available for small English-speaking children to read. Your kid will not only love and enjoy Tamago’s happy story but will also learn to be responsible for his or her actions.

3. English version – For English-speaking kids
Content: Story in English
Number of pages: 24 double pages
The Learn Thai versions are divided into 4 parts, starting with the main story in Thai, followed by vocabulary, the story in English, and then ending with sentences drawn from themes in the story.
After enjoying the story of Tamago, you’ll learn the vocabulary used in the story, as well as learn to build new sentences using additional examples constructed using the sentence structures from the story. Both the vocabulary and sentences come with English translations.
Difficulty: The story is written at an intermediate level using mostly simple vocabulary and simple, short, sentences. The vocabulary is correspondingly basic, and drawn from everyday life situations. But learners will still find a few more complex sentences and complicated vocabulary words included to challenge them, maintain their interest, and help build their skills.
Beginner native English-speaking readers will find the sentence by sentence translations and definitions help them to read quickly and maintain comprehension while still having fun; and intermediate learners will find the slightly more advanced material near the end of the book helps add to their understanding of the language. In other words, the book is designed to be educational and enjoyable for both beginners and intermediate learners.

For the Kindle format, the English translations are provided in the pop-up text boxes (simply double-click the texts in Thai and the translations will appear).
