Do you see the word “ครัช” written all over Facebook these days? It has become a new trend for chat language! This word actually comes from the male polite particle “ครับ”. Of course, it doesn’t exist, it’s a wrong way of spelling and we expect that people will stop using it in the near future!…

Do you know how to order whatever dish with an egg over it? If you say “ใส่ไข่” (sài kài), you’ll get an egg mixed up with other ingredients in your dish. Use the verb “โปะ” (pò) and you’ll get a beautiful-looking egg over the rice! If you want a fried egg, say the name of the dish followed by “โปะไข่ดาว” (pò kài dao) or say “โปะไข่เจียว” (pò kài jiao) if you want an omelette.…

The official name of Thailand’s airport is ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ [tâa-aa-gàat-sa-yaan sù-wan-na-poom]. However, in everyday conversation, Thai people refer to it as “สนามบินสุวรรณภูมิ [sa-nǎam-bin sù-wan-na-poom].” ท่าอากาศยาน [tâa-aa-gàat-sa-yaan] is more formal than สนามบิน [sa-nǎam-bin] and it is usually used only in the written language.
