To intentionally annoy someone (usually for fun) / to mess with / to bug

A: That he should have sat somewhere else!

กวนตีน [guan tiin] is quite a common word in Thai but be careful when you use it because in some contexts, it can come off as an insult. Most of the time, it is used in a response to someone’s joke. For instance, if you were the person in the example above asking a friend the question and he or she responded with that answer, you could respond by saying “กวนตีน” [guan tiin], which implies that he or she annoyed you with the answer because you expected the answer to be something like “He discovered gravity!” However, between friends, it is acceptable. Your friend won’t get offended in any way. But there are contexts where it’s more serious, then, you need to be careful. To be safe, don’t ever use it with someone who you aren’t close to.
